Yuliyana - Jürüyene: The call of the ancestors
1. Play khomus, to the dance of hands
composition for Khomus

I will gently touch
The mysterious khomus,
And my soul will sing full of love
Setting us both to fly.

Khomus is ringing, singing and rippling,
Glorifying the life to the dance of hands —
We will fly on these fine wings
Creating all the happiness with sounds.

2. My heart
lyrics by Degtyareva, music by N. Sargydaeva

My heart is tender
My heart is fragile
The painful blind sadness makes it cry
You want to run away from the leer eyes.
The joyful sparkles raise you to the sun.
Only the heart knows the words that makes you thrilled.
Only the heart hides the girl's love secret within.
3. Cranes
lyrics by L. Popova, music by Yuliyana

The clanging cranes were flying
Fearlessly fighting thourgh swamps and swirls
Cranes, cranes, nine marvelous cranes.
They call for their friends in their own way
And heading south they disappeared.
Cranes, сranes, nine marvelous cranes.
Soar above all the peaks
Fly over the seas of blue.
With your sad songs don't clang mournfully,
With your yearnful motives don't clang loudly.
Cranes, cranes, nine marvelous cranes.

4. Advice
music by Yuliyana

When you are too lonely
In your thoughts look for the blue sky
There is the lark pouring its fun and lovely songs
Then the familiar open vastness will come back to you

When it's too difficult for you
Think of a Bluecap fluttering its thin wings
Flashing in the twings.
Your beloved and dear Alaas will see you again.

In the hours of anxiety and sorrow
Wander in the sunny forest
Let the small birds voiced choir
Give you sweet peace.
Your tired soul's heavy load will disappear,
The path will become clear.

When the silence will bore you
Listen to your heartbeat
Be atwitter greatly, let your heart beat fast,
It's as if you are hearing poetry
And someone closest to you will return with a muse in a dream.

5. The legend of the universe
from the repertoire of the ethnic group "Ayarkhaan", arranged by Yuliyana

In the enchanting sounds of khomus one can hear the voices of the beautiful northernnature. These are the sounds of harmony, awakening and the joy of being. The long-awaited happy time for the Sakha people, who survive the harsh winter months, is accompanied by the chirping of songbirds, breathing of warm winds, and the wisper of green leaves. On the spacious alases, the clatter of hooves is heard, that means life is triumphant, because Jesegey, the divine horse rejoices!
6. Osuohai
composition for Khomus Yuliyana (author)

Ohuokhai is a round dance of happiness,
The northern people rejoice,
Our language is rich and bright
Forms the Anthem of Life around the Sun
My khomus is skillful and wondrous,
Will give the world Ohuokhai,
that belong to wise Sakha,
the dance of these gentle hands.

7. The old hitching post
lyrics Gennady Becheryakov, music by Yuliyana

Standing bent under the load of melted white snows
Keeper of the dwelling of the dear,
Like a sick, elderly person.
In cracks, age scars,
The sun has pierced right through you
But you will be stubborn and strong
Serve as a guest from the past.
My father's house has vanished
You can't even find logs
Covered with bushes
The tracks of pantry and pit.
The picture of great sadness
Is hidden in this disappearing sight
And a crownless tree is full of sadness
Aging here every moment.
The hitching post is standing lonely
Will remind of old times,
but my heart hurts
I will touch gently with my palm
And you stand and remain silent for so long.
How hard it is to part again
My ancestors deity
My soul will bleed
After all, I'll go far from you.

8. Adoration of the ancestors
composition for khomus by Yuliyana

Sing khomus, sing, sing,
Illuminating the spaces of the world
Calling from the depths of ancient years
And revive the faces of our ancestors.
Like a dream they come to Ysyakh,
in rows looking festive,
In silks, in rich silver,
To the full chorons at serge.

Oh sacrade, algys, koumiss,
Toyuk, khomus, osuohai all around,
There's an abundant, generous meal,
People are having fun...
Ysyakh - a beautiful time,
Ysyakh - the tradition of Sakha,
Oh my dear ancestors,
I thank you for everything.

9. Music of the White Steppe
Yuliyana (author)

Oh, Far North!
Endless, snow-white,
For hundreds of miles you can't see a soul,
Only cold, darkness, snowstorm, blizzard and wolves,
From hunger, the arctic fox runs from mink to mink,
But can't smell the snow white grouse.
Under the northern lights
On a long journey and dangerous
My deer is rushing
Tired, but brave.
Fly, fly, my deer!
You are life, you are fortitude!

My deer is rushing

You are life, you are fortitude!
10. Chabyrgakh (combined composition)
lyrics by A. Kulakovsky, Barakhsaana et al.

Chabyrgakh - tongue twister, a special, vibrant genre of oral creativity of the Sakha people. Sparkling figurative, comic expressions, with impeccable poetic syllables, our ancestors loved to ridicule human vices: laziness, greed, etc. The tongue twisters also describe personalities and temperaments of people. In one breath, with a clear recitative, improviser performers convey expressively from the premises of goodness what is good and what is bad.
